My research article is now officially in press, to be published in North American Dialogue - the Journal of the Society for the Anthropology of North America. It was definitely strange timing to finish this piece on the 15th anniversary of September 11, 2001. But it's done, and I can now go back to focusing on my dissertation (re)writing.
Above is a photo I took at the memorial that was in front of the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Orlando following the Pulse massacre. Flags representing the nationalities of those who were killed formed hearts on the lawn. Each flag had a victim's name written on it.
