Parramore
This collection of photographs documents the transformation of the historically Black and marginalized neighborhoods of Parramore and Callahan, with a focus on the impact of university-led gentrification, burgeoning sports and entertainment complexes, and the City's efforts to attract a new technology sector to bolster and diversify Orlando's tourism economy through urban development. Unseen environmental impacts, the erasure of residents (both human and non-human), and noise pollution characterize this evolving landscape and overlap with existing issues of systemic racial inequality, environmental degradation, and a disparate built environment. This case study also features multi-media exhibitions showcased at prestigious national and international conferences.
